Due to their own nature, they cannot be scheduled. Energy storage will become a priority to balance renewable production and energy demand.<br><br>In this context, <strong>power-to-gas<\/strong> will play a key role for electric power infrastructure: a provider of flexibility for the energy storage.<br><br>Hydrogen produced from power overproduction can be injected in the grid, after an appropriate mixing in a blending station, guaranteeing the compliance with gas network specifications.<br><br>Alternatively, thanks to methanogenic organisms, <strong>hydrogen can be<\/strong> combined with carbonic streams and <strong>transformed into methane<\/strong>, getting fully acceptable for direct network injection: an efficient way to store energy and at the same time intercept CO2 emissions.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Wind and solar power are having an increasing role in power production.
